Sip, Serve & Celebrate fundraiser benefiting Portland After School Tennis & Education to be held November 9 at Castaway Portland
Portland, Ore. — The 4th annual Sip, Serve & Celebrate fundraiser benefiting Portland After School Tennis & Education (PAST&E) will be held November 9, 2012 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Castaway Portland (1900 NW 18th Avenue, Portland, OR 97209).
Hosted by KOIN’s Kelley Day and former KWJJ radio host Mike Chase, the event will feature renowned catering and desserts by Papa Haydn, premium wines from Majestic Fine Wines Distributors, exclusive cocktails from Grey Goose Vodkas, inspiring seasonal brews from Widmer Brothers Brewing and DJ ComputerFAM will be spinning tracks throughout the evening. The proceeds from the event will go directly to PAST&E, a nonprofit that helps at-risk K-12 students achieve academic and athletic success.
“For sixteen years, PAST&E has delivered one-on-one tutoring, tennis lessons, a nutrition/fitness curriculum, and other support services to low-income children and their families,” says Danice Brown, the organization’s executive director. “We depend on community support, and Sip, Serve & Celebrate is a perfect opportunity for individuals and businesses to get behind the important work we do.”
Event highlights include silent auctions, raffle items, Wii tennis challenge, and with help from Auctioneer Jonathan Holiday a live auction featuring a fly-fishing vacation in Montana, a VIP experience with the Portland Timbers, 2013 BNP Paribas and US Open Tennis tournament packages, and tickets for the November 24 “Civil War” game between Oregon and Oregon State.
Event tickets are $75. “Grand Slam Table Sponsorships” are $1,000 and include reserved seating. All guests will enjoy cuisine, libations, and access to auction/raffle items. Ticket-purchasing and other information is available at www.pastande.org/sip.
About Portland After School Tennis & Education
Portland After School Tennis & Education (PAST&E) is a nonprofit whose mission is to create partnerships with families, schools, and volunteers to help at-risk K-12 students achieve academic and athletic success. We accomplish this through one-on-one academic tutoring, tennis lessons, a nutrition/fitness curriculum, parent education, and a “Best in Class” development program serving junior players who excel at tennis. Located at North Portland’s St. Johns Racquet Center, PAST&E impacts the lives of more than 1,000 at-risk children and families every year. For more information, visit www.pastande.org.
